I found this book somewhat of a surprise by the paradox between good and bad..to include the magic events between the characters ! There's minimal violence in this book and is appropriate for younger audience. The Author delivers an extraordinary story using unpredictable dialogue, and events between the characters. As the story develops that characters appear to take on a persona of their own which seems very extreme and unique. This is what makes the story surreal. The story was longer than I anticipated but I clearly understand why it's 299 pages long. However, it is a very unique but impeccable book for young readers because of it's easy content to follow ! This book was fun to read because it reminded me of a friend I used to know who gave his life for someone else. I don't want to spoil the whole story but it was interesting to see how a man risked his own life to save his girlfriend after a dangerous, and risky bout with alcohol. All the magic is somehow morphed into a serious story with characters who fight each other and resolve their differences after several face paced skirmishes, and dramatic events. Overall, I think the story was very fun to read and recommend reading it to children and young adults who like action-thriller type
